Junior Development Program
Our Junior Development Program (JDP) is designed for shooters between 12 and 17 years old.
The JDP runs every Saturday from 10am to 12 noon (excluding public and school holidays), at Australia’s largest indoor shooting range, St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre.
With a very strong focus on safety, the program allows students to learn more about this fun and challenging sport. Our junior members shoot under the direct, constant, and expert guidance of our Junior Development Range Officers.
The program caters for students new to shooting, little experience or those who hold a current Minors Permit.

The course fee* is $280 and is inclusive of all firearm, ammunition, target, range time and tuition costs. A payment of $60 is required to secure a booking with the balance of $220 to be paid by the second week.
The cost of the firearms safe handling course (normally $70) is also covered in the course fee. The Minor’s permit is available through the NSW Police Firearms Registry and will cost $75 and is payable to the Registry.
Young Guns
Open to all SSAA members 12 to 21 years who hold a current Firearms License or Minors Permit. Young guns is run on the last Saturday of each month except for June, September & December.
